SID, BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

MAY 21, 2002

Tannas Electronic Displays, Inc. (TED) of Orange, California is pleased to announce as of April 26, 2002, Symbolic Displays, Inc. (SDI) of Santa Ana, California as a new nonexclusive licensee of the LCD Process for manufacturing and sales of custom-sized LCDs. SDI is a well-established company making avionics for aircraft and simulators. With an in-house capability to manufacture custom sized LCDs, SDI expects to expand their market share in avionics and industry. They also plan to use the licensed process to manufacture and sell custom sized LCDs to the industry at large. TED continues to do research and development, sell prototypes for evaluation and small production quantities.

TED is also pleased to announce that they have been awarded a second patent, US 6,380,999 B1, Apr. 30, 2002, which gives TED more claims on the process. The first patent on "METHODS OF CUSTOMIZING THE PHYSICAL SIZE AND SHAPE OF COMMERCIAL OFF-THE-SHELF (COTS) ELECTRONIC DISPLAYS" US 6,204,906 B1 was awarded Mar. 20, 2001.
Additionally, custom LCDs made by the LCD Process have been tested by a third party for temperature and humidity conditions appropriate for avionics. Five displays were tested over several months without a single failure. TED has life tested several displays for over a year of nearly continuous operation without a single failure.

The LCD Process consists of taking a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) LCD and physically cutting it to a new size and resealing it with little or no change in its original performance. An example is taking a COTS 7-inch by 9-inch LCD and making it into a 7-inch by 7-inch square display for an avionics D Size instrument. The LCD process opens up an unlimited source of custom sizes for avionics, vehicles and industry at a fraction of the cost and lead time of custom-manufactured displays.

Lawrence E. Tannas, Jr., President, says, "The cost of making a custom resized LCD by my method is very low and there is no NRE and no minimum order."

Contact Larry Tannas, president or Larry Green, Director of Sales and Marketing, at sales@tannas.com for quotations. Details of example sizes, budgetary and planning quotations and the patent can be seen at www.tannas.com.
